A new chapter opening, hopefully

As former posters here should know by now there is a new effort being made by Guido Sarducci, the owner/operator of this bumrejects forum, to get things rolling again, actively recruiting new members and reconstructing old, to introduce topic discussions and comment on anything already posted.

I encourage everyone not to rush to judgement or attempt to categorize the posters of record, or hesitate to comment, criticize, or create a new subject.

I've been posting facts and opinions, and reading others', in St.Augustine forums since 2001 (the first St. Augustine Record Forum prior to the Talk of the Town Forum), and have learned much, and changed many previously held opinions, through the years.

I sincerely hope that this arena will be used by many without prejudice.

Sound Off rebooted

(I had typed "revisited" but the auto fill program changed it to  "rebooted" - which is quite correct; how did it know?).

I remember the Record's taped and transcribed anonymously printed Sound Off experiment.

Actually in 1975 when I was Editor of The Traveller weekly newspaper, the owner/publisher initiated a Sound Off anonymous comment column on local politicos and issues - with a prompt attempt by the then Asst. States Attorney to stop us from publishing. He also threatened to take us to court for publishing Legal News from the public record of the Court Dockets, which had never been published before.

Thanks for that, Bieramar.

After certain responses, I've been wondering:  Maybe it's true that one can't "go home again."

Talk of the Town...  I remember, and know you do as well, when Q's and A's were published in the paper, the responses given to an answering machine at The Record -- and someone had to transcribe them.

Good luck to The Guids!  I hope this place gets to hoppin' once again!  Very Happy

I may have to make another, second rule here,....

No trolling and posting on the record?  Or equivalent?

you're joking, right?
and dear father guido...how would you know?
divine inspiration?
i mean, you haven't logged on to the record in so long, you've probably forgotten your password.
but i confess, i did log on to the record message board, last week.
bless me father for i have sinned.
i walked into the valley of banality and watched the denizens of the money house fling poo at one another.
am i forgiven?

????

I don't understand the second rule. The St. Augustine Record?

Maybe Fr. Guido is insisting on complete loyalty.

Perhaps he wants you to be a one forum man.    Shocked

New bashful? members

Noting five recently signed on members - none of whom have posted.

Jump in; if you scan the archives you might find some still unresolved issues, or information you believe needs expansion - as well as starting new threads.

Also I note Nigel has linked a St. Augustine group.

Will a Pledge of Alligance be Required?

If so which way do we face when reciting it and where is the appropriate text?

Forgive father for surely I jest.

we've got some new members and to them i say:

welcome.
we've been here for about 3 years...give or take.
for the most part we're all old friends here and all veterans of several message boards including talk of the town, plazabum and free speech.

to the new folks...don't be afraid to start a new topic or jump in on an existing one.

in other words...don't be shy, say something.
all we ask is that you behave in a relatively civil manner.

that is pretty much the only rule.

and it's served us well in the past.

Yeah what he said.  Enjoy and please try to stir the pot..  No topic is out of bounds...  But let's keep it civil.  To many board crash and burn because of hostility...
