Any discussion on Scott being a lying SOB?

One of his major campaign promises was that he would not cut Education.

Now it is set up to cut 10% of the per pupil expenditure.

For those who don't understand how critical this is PerP $ can only be spent for certain things.  It WILL be teachers and programs that have to go.  There are no cuts left anywhere else and that aspect of the schools is what is funded by PerP $.

Don't know a thing about this person but cuts will have to be made in all segments of the economy or you will have to raise taxes it is as simple as that.  A 10% cut across the board while not enough is a start.

Out this way PERS is killing our state economy as long as that program is untouchable cuts in other arenas will have to be considered.

Gov. Rick "The Rectum" Scott IS cutting taxes, Coe!  For the wealthiest Floridians!  He says by doing that, they will spend HERE IN FLORIDA what they don't have to pay "extra" in taxes--and shazam--the state's economy will be fixed and will flourish!  He's a real piece of work.

One cannot run government like a business and expect to prevail.  Even on this level.

Scott needs to be recalled.  Pity it's a lengthy mechanism in Florida.

As opposed raising taxes on the wealthy?

Yes you can and should.  You can not continue to spend spend spend with out something breaking.  That applies for Local, State, and Federal government.

It is a lengthy process even in states where "Recall" is an option.  Usually 2 years.

If we're going to recall every governor who resorts to drastic measures to save his state economy...we're going to have to recall all 50.

Republican governors will be cutting things that liberals want to spend money on and democrat governors will be cutting programs that conservatives favor.  It's that simple.

Floridians have elected a republican governor.  Protecting the sacred cows on the left isn't going to be part of his agenda.

Yes.  I agree completely.

But I dislike NOT having a choice/course of action.

Coe,
Just don't give the wealthiest TAX CUTS!  Status quo, but no favoritism.

The only thing that precludes running municipal, state, and federal governments as businesses is... POLITICS.  Everyone has to pay the piper.

You said the magic word about recall... "option."  I want one.

Favoritism you say?  How is giving the wealthy a tax break favoritism?  They already pay more then any other income group.

If local, state and the federal government don't begin to run this country with an eye on fiscal responsibility there won't be a country left to fight for.

THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE MONEY THAN ANY OTHER INCOME GROUP.  (Not shouting, I just don't know how to respond within a response within a response... I'm getting. dizzy.)

That's right where we are headed.

So correct me if I am mistaken here.

From each according to ability to each according to need?

Here is an analogy to "THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE MONEY...."

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college...
Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words, redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

Her father asked her, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend Audrey, who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea. How would that be fair? I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work. Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

===========

That pretty much sums up my opinion of "THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE MONEY...."  While I am not making the bank I was a few years ago I have made in the mid 6 figures more often then not.  I have written check to the IRS for $25k over and above my quarterly contributions.

I worked 60, 70, 80 hours a week was putting out fires at 11 pm and feeding my kids on the fly at Mceee Deeees and the like.   I earned every dime and paid a very good CPA to make sure I didn't pay on thin dime more then I absolutely had to.
