merry christmas bum rejects.

merry christmas bum rejects.

and a happy (for the sake of brevity) 'all those other holidays'  too.

Quote:
and the angel said unto them, fear not: for, behold, i bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

for unto you is born this day in the city of david a saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

and this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace,

good will toward men.

God bless us, everyone ~ tiny tim.

for those of you who didn't understand the reference:

wikipedia wrote:
Crimble or Krimble is a slang term for Christmas coined by The Beatles as part of their 1964 Christmas record issued via the Beatles Fan Club. It is believed to have been coined by John Lennon given his penchant for wordplay. The term has come into general use among Liverpudlians, though use has spread to the wider world.

every year those lovable moptops did a christmas flimsywarp (really thin record) for the members of their fan club...and strangely enough there's a link to one right here.

as the fab four sang:
"every year it's christmas, at the end of every year."

thanks puc.
to you and all the bum rejects... merry crimble.

CATCHY TUNE BY THE BEATLES, I WONDER WHO WROTE THE WORDS  Laughing

Great footage of impossibly young Beatles at a news conference, as irreverant as ever!

Thanks for the trip in the Time Machine, Scrut!   Very Happy

Hey, Coebul--I believe in angels, too!  Beautiful card!!!  Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Sorry I missed all the Merry Christmas-ing!  Hope everyone had a great one.  I had hoped to get in here and put up a nice post before the holidays...but I got sidetracked by an illness in the family.  But right now, all is well in my world and I managed to survive another batch of holidays.  I ate, drank and was merry and bright.  Then I ate and drank some more.

I don't know if any of you have ham for Christmas dinner...but my sister makes a pineapple souffle that is to-die-for as a side dish.  It has been denounced by numerous cardiologists and endocrinologists and should probably come with an at-home defibrillator.

And I got some cool gifts.  One of my favorites is one of those coffeemakers that uses the little pods or discs or whatever you call them.  I've had a cappucino, a latte, an espresso or two, some earl grey tea and a killer hot chocolate.

i cooked a ham for christmas dinner...we had dinner at the in-laws as the furniture i ordered for christmas never showed up. (and i jumped the gun a little...i took an axe to the old sofa to get it out of the front door and make room for the furniture that never arrived, which was cool because there was plenty of room for gifts, of which there were many...full refund on the ordered furniture which backordered...long boring story)

i got a leather office chair and a nifty pink floyd bootleg recording which sweet baby must have moved heaven and earth to find...i had never heard it or heard of it...those are the best gifts...the ones you don't even know exist.
beats the hell out of last year's scooby doo underoos. and the obligitory lump of coal.

(yeah, i know...close to exactly the same thing i did last year...so what?)

so i'll finish up with a quote from nick lowe...and not a christmas quote either...but one i really like:

"what's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?"
