"Christian Trinity United Church" is the cover name for a marxist activist cell, there isn't much religion going on there.

So true, Coebul.

Plus... I'm pretty sure that Jimmy Carter and Bush 1 had approval numbers in the 40s at this point in their presidencies, too.

Make no mistake I fear we will loose in November.  But Romney is just getting started.  He has plenty of ammo and if he is willing to get down and fight for it he could pull it off.  Time will tell.

There are a number of issues that still need to addressed.  But 0bama is a very smart player.

He fabricated the birth control issue to create a war on women issue.  He will do any thing to move the issue away from the economy and anything to get re-elected.

Agreed.  But luckily the birth control issue fell flat...and they sabotaged their subsequent War On Women campaign all on their own.  LOL

I know none of us are thrilled with having Mitt as our candidate, but he does have the organization and fundraising capabilities that can match Obama's.

I'm hoping Mitt will give Obama a real thrashing now that the primary battles are over.  But although I'm ready to see him flex his muscles a bit, I keep reminding myself that Mitt has a "slow and steady wins the race" campaign strategy.  I expect we'll see a more confident candidate after the convention...perhaps the gloves will come off then.

Obama is not to be underestimated, but I still believe he is doomed by the state of the economy.  IF IF IF we play our cards right, I believe he will be Jimmy Cartered out of office.

I am - it will be a win/win election - regardless of whom is elected.

Hard to believe you don't care whether we elect a statist or a capitalist.

But it's nice to see that you're willing to support a venture capitalist candidate.

I'm a wholehearted supporter of capitalism, including venture capitalism - as I've painstakingly pointed out for years it is an essential part of human nature.

That I find the abortions of capitalism which have been initiated since the mid-20th century - "Financial Capitalism" in real estate and currency - anathema, and the cause of the current economic stalemates in the western world, has nothing to do with the necessity of basic capitalist actions in commerce, trade, and the production and delivering of basic needs by/to human beings.

Both Obama and Romney are smart realistic pragmatists, not ideologues (and neither will have a filibuster-proof Senate), and neither will be waging religious and neo-conservative warfare.
The federal government's role in economic solutions - when/if they occur - will be a result of the actions of Members of Congress, not any President.

I won't be out working for either one, as it really doesn't matter to me which one will be elected.
