Hey Enuff, good to see you jumped over - its lots more fun here than with those other bums.

I suggest you read the first post on this thread, and follow the source link to the comments made there for the substance of the internet squabbling - which is bound to get steamier as the election nears.

Go Daddy, an Internet domain registrar, is sold
By JORDAN ROBERTSON
AP Technology Writer

The parent company of GoDaddy.com, a top registrar of Internet domain names, has been sold to a group of private investment firms for $2.25 billion, a person familiar with the transaction told The Associated Press.

Go Daddy Group Inc.'s sale to KKR, Silver Lake and Technology Crossover Ventures comes as the company expects to top $1.1 billion in revenue this year because expanding Internet use has fueled the creation of more websites and the "domains" needed to help find them. Go Daddy announced the sale late Friday. A person close to the transaction, who asked to remain anonymous because of not being authorized to speak publicly, told the AP the sale price.

A fact sheet accompanying the release indicated that Go Daddy's revenue has grown by more than 20 percent in each of the past several years.

The Go Daddy Group Inc. was founded in 1997 by Bob Parsons, who continues to serve as its CEO. The company, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., manages more than 48 million domain names, and sells other Internet-related technologies.

I never said he wasn't black enough; however, he surely can't walk a mile in the shoes of some of the real civil rights heroes we've got to be proud of in St. Augustine.

SOMETIMES, THE HEADLINES JUST WRITE THEMSELVES.

I salute you for stating, “We’re not going away, Mr. Gold, and if you insist on continuing to present yourself as a journalist and your website as a news outlet, we’re going to continue reporting on how you do. That’s our job, and we try to be good at it.”

The Ponte Vedra Recorder has been sold to a South Carolina company, Recorder editor Mark Pettus said Tuesday, his last day on the job.

The move means that the St. Augustine Underground, a monthly newspaper, will stop publication immediately, Pettus said.

Pettus said Publisher Vinnie Grassia was already let go, so he had expected to follow.

Pettus, sounding resigned but optimistic, said he had expected the dismissal and was looking forward to finding another position -- though probably not another editorship.

I don't know, Mr. Pettus.  Maybe Ed Slavin has a job for you?
