Speaking of irony, the mix of your avatar and the flash of authoritarianism is a interesting paradox.

Well played by the way. Nice job!

Mods? Can we fix this one, too, so that the new policy applies equally to all? "

Jesus Christ.  How passive-aggressive can one woman get?  She demands anonymity and deletion of all her posts on this forum, then skedaddles over there and presumes to tell The Record that, GOD FORBID, St Aug Gal's real name isn't St Aug Gal.  It must get awfully crowded in that pint-sized little noggin of hers.

i'm seriously thinking  of subscribing to the st. augustine record under that very name...
i wonder whether our stalwart purveyors of local news can forgo the allure of the princely sum of $6.99 a month, from a "person" who is obviously a figment of someones warped imagination.

anne nonymous?
anne cognito?
bo gus chatterbox?
i. reid tripe?

Won't work.  If you want to subscribe to the newspaper, you have to provide two forms of state-issued photo identification, have a credit score over 750, and submit a cheek swab, and fingerprints.  It seems that they discovered that NSA and CIA will each pay them $2.00 per subscriber to upload the genetic information to CODIS and the prints to AFIS.

Well, today I was doing some reading and decided to read the Times Union web site for a change.  I found it fascinating that they still use screen names rather than "real names" like the Record.  One would think they would have rolled it out in Times Union at the same time along with the pay wall.

Their whole pay wall thing is funny considering how easily it is defeated.  I guess Morris communications should have asked around a little better about the "Press Plus" pay wall system.  It's the pay wall made of jello........

Looks like the Record's unofficial hall monitor Ms Biz E Bodie has the comments sections pretty much to herself.

I wonder if the "real names" policies sweeping the nation will help with the seemingly increasing political polarity and extremism or will make it worse by further "bubblizing" media readership.

I would love to get a look at the Records web site traffic stats since their new Orwellian policy was implemented.  Even the content seems more lackluster now,  its like eating plain vanilla yogurt after having only eaten plain vanilla yogurt for a year.

My guess is the Record is in in last months maybe a year. It has become an accountant turned publisher's dream, cost effective, easy to produce, and bland and tasteless as wet cardboard.

She must really appreciate herself.

Yes, but with the pay wall, nobody notices.

Wow Monday morning.  Not one single comment on any article or editorial.  Only two for an entire weekend.

The new publisher must be so proud.

Hopefully it's not an indication of the overall effect on readership. If so we may lose the Record in short order.  I don't like their format nor their new policies and I definitely don't like their lying publisher, but St. Augustine needs it's own newspaper.

Hopefully Morris is paying attention and replaces her before she completely decimates the Record's readership. If she hasn't already...........

Time for The Traveller (early 1970s) - the original Sound Off media purveyor in St. Augustine - to rise from the ashes?
