Willard Mitt Romney (born March 12, 1947) is an American businessman and Republican political figure who was the 70th Governor of Massachusetts (2003 to 2007). He ran for President of the United States in the 2008 election, and is exploring a possible candidacy in the 2012 presidential election.

Romney has now rejected his earlier stands supporting abortion rights, gun control, gay rights, and cap and trade.

He says his 2006 law requiring Massachusetts residents to obtain health insurance was right for his state at the time, but he has condemned the Obama-backed mandate that would cover all Americans.

=====
Nothing wrong with changing one's mind about things.

But the reasons for the changes are legitimate targets for intense analysis.  Are Massachusetts' residents that different from those living in all the other states?

It does matter why one changes his opinons, however.
If one has all the principles of a common garden snail it is a simple process and means nothing.
Romney is an end justifies the means Northeast urban quadrant statist RINO.
His religious affiliation is irrelevant.
A Romney presidency wouldn't be substantially different from the disaster we face now.

I am not sure I don't agree with this.  I do not trust Romney and I am not all that sure his faith is irrelevant.

I registered as a republican almost 50 years ago, when there likely weren't more than a dozen republicans in St. John's county
I did so because I view the Constitution to be as nearly sacred as any secular document can be. Never mind that this isn't a universally held view among republicans today, I think it should be, by definition.
Romey and the others like him are just another flavor of democrat, with all the same tendencies to foster the lynch mob activism unbridled democracy naturally becomes.
I'm not playing the game any more, this time, maybe my last time, if I even last that long, I'm holding out for the real thing, no more Doles, McCains or Romneys.
All the democrats who see themselves as advocates for the common man are, from the perspective of history, damned fools, busily digging their own graves. I want no part of it.

The stage play Book of Mormon won 9 Tonys last night (out of 14 nominations).

The resultant publicity is worth several points in popular votes for Romney.

I think that's pie in the sky, Bier.

I heard there's a fatwah out for the writers.
